To fix this, you will need to configure the router to pretend to have the same MAC address as the ISP approved computer, instead of its own.

This article will help you configure MAC Spoofing on your NETGEAR router to bypass the locking your ISP has configured on your connection.

If you cannot do this, you will have to find the computers MAC address so that you can enter it into the router manually.

Make sure that the ports where the two Ethernet cables are connected are lit.

Otherwise, a factory reset is needed to restore the router to factory defaults.

For most cable Internet connections, follow the settings shown below then click the Apply button.

Note: If you have an older NETGEAR router with the Smart Wizard UI (as shown in the screenshot below), click Basic Settings under Setup on the left blue panel.
